Yesterday was Opening Day at the San Diego County Fair in Del Mar, a beloved San Diego tradition that has brought our community together for generations. We attended the annual Don Diego Scholarship Foundation fundraiser, whose mission is to provide scholarships and support educational opportunities for deserving students throughout San Diego County. One of the highlights of the evening was sitting next to JP's good friend, retired Navy Captain Royce Williams, who was awarded the Medal of Honor earlier this year. Despite his extraordinary accomplishments, Captain Williams was incredibly humble and gracious. It was a special night celebrating community, education, and the people who inspire us through service and leadership.
